During the summer of 2005, Storyscapes collaborated with the Kitsilano Memories project to gather Aboriginal stories and images of one of Vancouver's oldest neighbourhoods. The Memories project celebrated the centennial of the Kitsilano neighbourhood by gathering stories and photos from a range of contributors. A selection of these will be mounted on plaques throughout the community.
Storyscapes Kitsilano was supported by the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation through its Neighbourhood Matching Fund program.
Kitsilano Memories Project Coordinator: Lori Sherritt
The Memories project operates under the auspices of the St. James Community Square Society and is made possible through the assistance of the City of Vancouver's Community Public Art Program, Office of Cultural Affairs, as well as the support of the Kitsilano Community Centre, business sponsors, individual donors and a host of dedicated volunteers.
